On July 7th, 2016, in Olympia, Washington, approximately 40 individuals assembled near City Hall around 7 p.m., with many of them holding signs in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. An organizer stated that the group was staging a protest in response to the recent deaths of two black men at the hands of police officers in Minnesota and Baton Rouge, events that have caused widespread unrest and concern throughout the nation.
